Precious Blessings.....
Babies are such a blessing and someday we will tell
them about the day they were born.
What will your story be?

God made our bodies the way He did for a reason. We are meant to carry and birth children.... it should not be something to fear.

As a Certified Labor Doula I am there to provide physical, emotional, and informational support to the mother and family.  I believe that because our bodies were so wonderfully made, every woman should be given the knowledge and opportunity to have as natural a birth as they desire.  I am also there to help you preserve your birthing experience by writing your baby a story about their "Birth Day"!

What is a Doula?

A Doula is a person who attends to the birthing family before, during, and just after the birth of the baby. The Doula is trained to deliver emotional support from home to hospital and ease the transition into the hospital environment. The Doula serves as an advocate on behalf of the mothers birth wishes, labor coach, and information source.  This gives the mother and her partner the added comfort of additional support throughout the entire birth experience. A Doula is trained in helping the mother cope with labor pain by using techniques and comfort measures that are natural.  A Doula may be referred to as a "labor support person", or a "birth assistant" because of the services provided.

What a Doula Does Not Do
A Doula does not give medical advice, perform medical procedures, make decisions for you, or take the place of your partner or coach.  They advise and add continued support to the birthing team.

Why should I consider a Doula?
Though childbirth is unpredictable, with a Doula you have continued support throughout the process. A Doula provides you with the information you need to work towards the birth you most desire.

Studies have proven that having a Doula present during labor help women have an overall better birth experience.

Having a Doula is also effective by :
  • 50% reduction in c-section rate
  • 25% shorter labor
  • 60% reduction in epidural requests
  • 40% reduction in Pitocin use
  • 30% reduction in analgesia use
  • 40% reduction in instrumental deliveries
